I don't really understand why people would label Dib as a "hero" even though he's constantly trying to murder intelligent creatures for fame and popularity and abusing Gaz simultaneously rather than trying to bring peace and justice between worlds with compassion and impartiality.

I get that Zim is about 80% evil, but he's not pure evil and was taught wrong and mistreated by his species his entire life; not realizing the error of his ways. Yet, I'm sure Zim would have turned against the Tallest if he had learned the truth about them lying to him and how his species abused him for his entire life.
